Dumping Google+

by Hawke Robinson last modified Sep 06, 2016 12:49 AM
Checking the numbers, after so much time (years), it is clear Google+ is a complete waste of time, so I am dumping it rather than wasting more time. Get updates and latest music from my website www.syntheticzen.com, Twitter, and Soundcloud...

How do you as a Synthetic Zen listener feel about this? I don't want to inconvenience you, but the numbers indicate this won't really have much of an impact on you. Please let me know if you feel otherwise.

I will download all my Youtube and Google+ Hangout videos videos (most already on my hard drive anyway), and upload to my website. I will look at doing the live shows over other services that are much better at building communities and fan interaction.

I had hoped Google+ would be a viable alternative to the mess that is Facebook, but Google appears not to have a clue about building communities compared to others. I have tried for several years to make it work, but they I am generating next to zero traffic from all the effort, so doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Stop the insanity! :-) (donning spiky blonde hair). :-P

I will continue to use my website as the primary repository of all things Synthetic Zen. For those preferring social networks (blech), Twitter is palatable enough. Though I still have a Facebook account, I really am trying to drop it as well. Though FB does generate a little bit of fan base, the most comes from my website, Twitter, and Soundcloud.
